06, 2010 - The Northbridge summer concert series, which was
previously held on Memorial Square by the Parks and Recreation
Department, has now been taken over by Alternatives..!
"The concerts are all free and will be held on
the Community Plaza at Alternatives' Whitin Mill," said Tom Soupe,
of Alternatives. "This is the large open space on the riverside,.."
Blackstone Valley
Bluegrass will be playing at Alternatives Outside Court for the "Summer
Concerts Series" at the Whitin Mill on Thursday July 22nd from 6:30-8:30
p.m. Its free so "Come on down"! Bring the family & friends, picnics,
blankets and enjoy a nice summers evening outdoors with ... MUSIC!

Announcing Freedomsong 3,
the 'concert on the lawn'. This
year, it moves outdoors to the new Veterans Inc facility at 59
South Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Entertainment includes Jason James
& the Baystate Houserockers, Rick Porter & the Sons of the Soil,
Jubilee Gardens, The Blackstone Valley
Bluegrass Band, Betsy Listenfelt, and a special
appearance by a blues band made up entirely of veterans.
Food and beverages will be
available. Raffles and prizes will be given out throughout the
day. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy the music while
giving back to your community.
This is your chance to help
veterans in need.
Freedomsong
is a way for Massachusetts musicians to say "thank you" to the
troops, and to lend our talents towards raising money to help
pay for basic Veterans' services, such as housing & long term
health care, including mental health. It is also simply a way to
raise awareness of these issues to the general public. Please
join us in keeping the flame burning for Veterans rights.

The Clark’s Free Outdoor
Concert Series features the
Blackstone Valley Bluegrass
on Tuesday, July 20th, as part of the Sterling and Francine Clark Art
Institute’s free outdoor concert series held at 6 pm on Tuesday evenings
in July. Concerts are held on the Clark’s expansive south lawn (picnics,
blankets, and lawn chairs encouraged). The Clark’s Café will sell barbeque fare and the galleries will remain open until 6 pm on
concert evenings. In the event of rain, concerts will be held in the
auditorium. Concert admission is free.
The Clark is located at 225 South Street in Williamstown, MA.
The
galleries are open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm (daily in July
and August). Admission June 1 through October 31 is $15.00 for adults,
free for children 18 and under, members, and students with valid ID.

This annual
bluegrass festival is held the first full weekend of August in East
Hartford, Connecticut. It features local, regional and national
bluegrass, bringing together the finest in bluegrass music each year.
The Podunk Bluegrass Music Festival will
celebrate its 15th year with one of its most outstanding line-ups to
date. The festival will run from Thursday, August 5th through Sunday,
August 8th at Martin Park in East Hartford, Connecticut. People always
ask, "How nice can this festival be if it's in a city?". But once you
arrive at Martin Park, you will find all the city sounds melt away and

North Branch Bluegrass
Festival will be opening the gate earlier to campers and field
pickers! Beginning at 10 am on Sunday August 29, 2010, we'll
open up for 4 extra nights for a $10 per person additional
charge to our $50 at-the-gate weekend festival price. Come early
and field pick to your heart's delight. Bring your well-behaved
friends and help us make this experiment a permanent part of our
festival.
